The idea that the Rapture could take place at any moment
since the birth of the Church on the day of Pentecost is a twentieth century
concept. It was unknown in the first century A.D. and throughout the last
1,800 years since the close of the Apostolic Age (circa 100 A.D.). You will see in Chapter One that there are some
well-known prophecy teachers who do not believe the Rapture has always been
imminent since Pentecost. Most of them believed it became imminent after the
re-establishment of the nation of Israel in 1948. In Chapter Two I explain why the Bible does not teach
the doctrine of imminence contrary to what the proponents of that doctrine
claim. Instead the Bible clearly teaches that specific prophecies (warning
signs) must be fulfilled before the Rapture can take place. Those prophecies
are detailed in Chapter 5. The Scriptures also teach that there is no gap between
the Rapture and the start of the Tribulation (Chapter3). In fact, the Bible
clearly states those two events will take place on the same day. Take a close look at Chapter 4 “Seven Church
Periods.” If you believe the seven churches are symbolic of seven
periods of Church history it means the Rapture could not be an imminent event
until the start of the Age of Philadelphia. The key to understanding Bible prophecy is not to
trust one or more prophecy teachers that you like or you think know what they
are talking about. The key is to study the Bible for yourself
to see if certain concepts such as imminence are biblical. This book is
designed to help you study eschatology so you can decide for yourself whether
or not the Rapture is an imminent event or if specific prophecies (warning
signs) must be fulfilled beforehand. In Chapter 5 the 16 major prophecies (warning signs)
are listed that have yet to be fulfilled. Study these warning signs and then watch as they are fulfilled. Also share
them with family, friends and strangers so other believers and your unsaved
friends can know how close we are getting to the start of the Tribulation and
the Rapture. As these warning
signs are fulfilled it will give you a perfect opening to share the
Gospel with those you love and care about as well as with strangers. Learn
how to share the Gospel and then give those in your sphere of influence the
Good News. The men who teach that there are no warning signs of the Rapture have
forgotten what Jesus said to the Pharisees: An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a
sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of Jonah. And he left them, and departed. (Matthew 16.4) Unbelievers were given just one sign by Jesus
– His resurrection. Yet when His disciples asked Him for a sign He gave
them a long dissertation which we call the Olivet Discourse. Jesus prophesied
that the Temple would be destroyed and His disciples asked Him when that
would take place and they also asked Him “what [shall be] the sign of
thy coming, and of the end of the world?” (Matthew 24.3). We see that the unbelieving are given one sign, but
the believing are given many signs. If you believe Jesus is the Messiah He
has given you many signs of His return. Study this book and the Bible to see
what those warning signs are. Be careful not to become consumed with Bible prophecy to the point where that is all you talk about and the only parts of the Bible that you study. All believers are commanded to study the entire Bible from Genesis 1.1 to Revelation 22.21 (2 Timothy 2.15). Set up a daily Bible reading program, a Bible study program along with a Bible memorization and meditation program. Then read, study, memorize and meditate on Scripture as often as possible. Do not forget to pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5.17). See Appendix B to set up your spiritual fitness program. To learn why the
