SPIRITUAL FITNESS PROGRAM

Here several things you should do on a daily or regular basis:

1 - Pray! (Lk. 18.1; Eph. 6.18; 1 Thes. 5.17).

2 - Listen to Scripture (James. 1.22; Rev. 1.3).

3 - Read Scripture (Rev. 1.3).

4 - Study Scripture (2 Tim. 2.15).

5 - Memorize Scripture (Ps. 40.8; 119.11; Prov. 2.1; 3.1; 4.1)

6 - Meditate on Scripture (Josh. 1.8; Ps. 1.2)

7 - Fellowship with the brethren (Heb. 10.24,25).

8 - Share the Gospel (I Peter 3.15).

1 - Pray! Pray as often as you can wherever you are. Pray for your family, friends, fellow employees, employer, church members, pastors, city, state and federal politicians. Pray with your family daily and with church members on a regular basis.  You can pray with your eyes open while you are walking, riding a bike or even driving.  Stay in touch with YAHWEH throughout the day with short prayers and also long prayers in private.

2 - Listen to Scripture. Play audio tapes/CDs of the Bible and listen to sermons of preachers and Bible teachers. Use discernment concerning whom you listen to.

3 - Read Scripture. Make a program and stick to it. I suggest you read two or more chapters a day in the OT and at least one in the NT. If you have the time read five chapters in the OT and three in the NT. In the OT read one chapter each in the Pentatuch (Genesis to Deuteronomy), historical books (Joshua to Nehemiah, poetical books (Job to Song of Solomon), major prophets (Isaiah to Daniel) and minor prophets (Hosea to Malachi). In the NT read one chapter each in the Gospels and Acts, Pauline Epistles (Romans to Hebrews) and the General Epistles (James to Revelation).

4 - Study Scripture. Choose books of the Bible & topics to study. It is best to study one book at a time and begin with New Testament books, but do not neglect the Old Testament books. Also do topical studies as the need arises. Buy a Strong's Concordance and an Interlinear New Testament and an Old Testament interlinear.

5 - Memorize Scripture. Memorize whole books, chapters or passages, along with key verses. Here are some key chapters/ passages you may consider memorizing -- Ps. 1; 23; Isaiah 52.13-53.12; Matt. 5-7; John 1.1-18; 14.1-17.26; 1 Cor. 13; Gal. 5.13-26; Eph. 6.10-18; James. 3.1-4.10; I, II, III John and Rev. 21,22.

6 - Meditate on Scripture. Once you have a few passages/chapters memorized you can meditate on them any time of the day and wherever you are. Until then keep a pocket Bible or a pocket New Testament handy. Keep a Bible and a few New Testaments in your car at all times for yourself and others. Get into the habit of giving Bibles and New Testaments away.

7 - Fellowship with the brethren. Become an active member of a church.

8 - Share the Gospel. Learn how to share the Gospel and be ready 24/7. We should also approach people when we are prompted by the HOLY SPIRIT to do so. Carry tracts with you and hand them out as you are prompted by the HOLY SPIRIT. If a person wants to talk -- speak with him.  If he does not want to talk ask him to read the tract and pray as you walk away. Keep a diary of your witnessing. When you lead people to the Lord invite them to church and make sure they become an active member.
