He told a news conference at the TV station where he works that his actions were motivated by what he called the oppression and humiliation of Iraqis under the US occupation.
He said that while he is now free, his country is still held captive.
Mr Zaidi was jailed for assaulting a foreign head of state. He shouted "it is the farewell kiss, you dog" at Mr Bush on Dec 14 last year, seconds before hurling his size 10 shoes at the man who ordered Iraq be invaded and occupied six-and-a-half years ago.
Although Mr Bush, who successfully ducked to avoid the speeding footwear, laughed off the attack, the incident caused massive embarrassment, to both him and the Iraqi prime minister, Nouri al-Maliki.
Mr Zaidi faces the prospect of a very different life from his previous existence as a journalist for Al-Baghdadia television, a small, privately owned Cairo-based station, which continued to pay his salary while he was in jail.
He is now in great demand and has had offers to work abroad. Speaking after his release for good behaviour after serving nine months of a three-year sentence, Mr Zaidi, 30, alleged he had also been repeatedly beaten and whipped in his first few days of custody.
[Ed. note: Mr. Zaidi is a PATRIOT not only of Iraq, but of America and the world! He stood up to a genocidal murderer. If every PATRIOT in the world stood up against the genocidal murderers around the world like Wu Bangguo, G.W.H. Bush G.W.
